White Sauce Crab Pasta

Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces penne (any pasta may be used)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 8 ounces clam juice
  • 1 cup half-and-half cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup imitation crabmeat
  • cilantro (optional) or parsley, for garnish (optional)

Directions

  • 1 Cook the pasta as directed on the box.
  • 2 Meanwhile, in a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • 3 Add the onion and cook, stirring often until softened, for about 5 minutes.
  • 4 Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute.
  • 5 Stir in the clam juice, cream and garlic powder.
  • 6 Bring to a boil, stirring continuously.
  • 7 Drain pasta and return to the pot.
  • 8 Stir in the imitation crab and cream sauce.
  • 9 Toss to combine all the ingredients.
  • 10 Garnish with cilantro or parsley if desired.
