Lemon Pepper Ahi Tuna

Lemon Pepper Ahi Tuna

Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 ahi tuna steaks
  • kosher salt
  • crushed black peppercorns
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon capers
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon safflower oil (whatever kind of oil you have available) or 1 tablespoon olive oil (whatever kind of oil you have available)

Directions

  • 1 Sprinkle salt and black pepper on both sides of the tuna steaks.
  • 2 Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the steaks.
  • 3 Heat 1 tbs of oil in a pan.
  • 4 Add 1 tbs of butter.
  • 5 Turn the heat down low to medium-low.
  • 6 Place the tuna in the pan.
  • 7 Add capers, and squeeze more lemon juice into the pan.
  • 8 Add slices of lemon to the pan and 2nd tbs of butter.
  • 9 Shake the contents of the pan a bit and let cook for about 4 minutes.
  • 10 Turn the steaks over and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • 11 Serve the tuna with the slices of lemon and capers from the pan.
