Easy Apple Dumplings

Time: 1 hrs

Ingredients

  • 5 medium tart apples (or pears)
  • 5 refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
  • 1 cup sugar (divided)
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 3 tablespoons margarine or 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

  • 1 Core applies. Pare or leave skins on.
  • 2 Roll out each biscuit thinly using a rolling pin. (be sure to dust with flour).
  • 3 Place an apple in the center of each biscuit.
  • 4 Fill centers with a mixture of sugar and cinnamon. (1/3 cup sugar and 1/4 tsp cinnamon).
  • 5 Dot each apple with 2 teaspoons of margarine/butter.
  • 6 Wrap up with apple in biscuit and seal with fingers.
  • 7 Boil 2/3 cup sugar and water with 2 tablespoons of margarine/butter for 3 minutes.
  • 8 Pour syrup around apples in flat casserole dish.
  • 9 Bake at 425 degrees for 45-50 minutes.
  • 10 *Best served hot and even better with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
