Green Beans-Canning-Raw Pack

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 lbs young tender green beans, pods
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups boiling water

Directions

  • 1 Wash beans.
  • 2 Drain.
  • 3 Remove strings and trim ends.
  • 4 Cut into 2 inch pieces.
  • 5 Pack beans into a hot quart jar leaving 1 inch head space.
  • 6 Add Salt.
  • 7 Ladle boiling water over beans-again leaving 1 inch head space.
  • 8 Wipe rims and adjust 2 piece caps.
  • 9 Process quarts for 25 minutes at 10 pounds pressure.
  • 10 **Shouldyou wish to use pints use 1/2 t salt and process 20 minutes at 10 pounds pressure.
